Spirit of Thunder
Here is the first of four sculptures I designed as Native American fantasies which was the project theme. For this series I did some research into legends of the tribes of early North America and worked some of it into my sculptures. Perhaps not the most historically accurate depiction of the west but cultural elements are merged with spiritual fantasy to offer a somewhat unique presentation. The Great Buffalo rising from the smoke of the campfire as the brave chants a prayer was a vision that immediately came from my readings. It established the look for the misty dreamlike apparitions that were a part of the subsequent sculptures in this series.
Though I had designed a dozen different pieces only four were actually sculpted and produced.
